I ate Dec 31 and xnto the daw n Dea1 J1m Jeepers another year 15 almost gone' It makes me feel so old Th1s w1ll be leap year Of course men arent scarce at OHS so It won t make any dlfference ha' Basketball season IS well under way now Our first game yy as w1th Seneca We reallv cleaned em up 62 18 Three of the1r play ers were s1ck so may be that had somethlng to do w 1th the score but we d haye won any way' Don Jobst was the captaln for the game and made nlne baskets We played L P next As you know there neyer was any loye lost between us and It was the same as always thls year It was knock em down drag em out from start to Hnlsh I never yelled so loud 1n all my llfe I yyas posltlyely hoarse the next day and On December 17 we played DeKalb and won 32 29 We played Sterllng durlng Chrlstmas vacatlon and lost It was a great dlsappolntment but we tell ourselyes that our boys were t1red because they had to play as soon as they got there W1th0Ut restlng after that long tr1p Got to haye some ex cuse huh? Boone on December 7 It was pretty good but he d1dnt even k1ss h1s girl friend I was never so dlsgusted ln all my llfe Phooeyl If any guy acted llke that nowadays he d be sent to Kankakee The Navy Mothers Club of Amerlca spon sored a program at the Armory that nlght It was open to the publlc and was 1n memory of the boys who have been killed slnce Pearl Harbor Our band plaved and Lt Mlller a Navy chaplaln spoke Grades came out on December 10 Xou know how that is Everyone trles to forget today IS grade day but some doggone dr1p always remlnds you and you find yourself dreadlng to go to home room Of course freshles and a few other genluses love grade day Me I say my prayers all the way to home room and Slt there Wlth my teeth 1n my mouth until they hand me the bad news Then I promptly resolve to turn over a new leaf but by the next day I Xe already forgotten About ninety senlors came to the Senior dance on Thursday the 10th in the Mixing Bowl Susle Dorr1s gawe everyone a tag w1th his name on It and he had to t1e the tag 1n a promlnent place on hlmself of course Art D Asaro and Don RICE vsere 1n charge of playmg records and they were better than the Make Belleve Dance Land announcer The boys fall but about two or three vsho happened to be with their glrlsj stay ed ox er in one corner unt1l we glrls declded to use commando tactlcs About fixe girls ganged up on Pete Ferracutl Cthat mountaln of Q1 lencel and LOU19 Gerdlng the of the bedroom eyesj and finally 1nduced them Cwlth strong arm methodsb to go out and dance' With Pete and Loule on the floor most of the other boys were more vx1ll1ng to take the great step fand the way some of them dance I a1n t k1dd1n J soon we had qulte a few out danc lng Georgle Kapas got so scared that he ran off and took most of the basketball team Wlth him What s he got that we hay en t got?
