School parties and sports proyide additional recrea- tion and enjoyment to students. Gordon was cast for a part in the senior play adding to his already busy schedule. KATHY GAMET WAS rated in the upper 29h ofthe Seniors who took the National Merit Scholarship tests. She was also chosen as a finalist in the contest for the Elizabeth M. Watkins Scholarship. ROD LENNARD WAS also rated in the upper 2070 ofthe Seniors. He made the trip to K, U. to try for the Summerfield Scholarship. Faculty members met November 7 to select eight candidates for the Putnam, Watkins, and Summerfield scholarships. The Elizabeth M. Watkins Scholarship is offered to girls graduating from Kansas high schools. Kansas University also offers the Putnam Scholarship to both boys and girls of Kansas. X Awards will be made solely on merit and not on the financial need of the individual. The faculty also chose Geri Sue Figgins to apply for a scholarship sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The potential scholarship winners took the tedious tests on October 26. Honor Students Are Intereste CINDY KUNTZ, Dean Watkins, Dennis Smith, David Rybolt, Gordon Bruce, and Martha Maxwell were among the students taking the trip to Kansas University to take the tests for the Putnam, Watkins and Summerfield Scholarships.
