t, X x AFTER THE ATCHISON-OTTAWA GAME members of the Cyclones and student body came back to the junior high gym tor the homecoming dance. Betty Salmon Chosen Queen of Homecoming In a light green Buick the Ottawa High School queen, Betty Salmon, gowned in a snow white formal with red velveteen bows on the bodice and skirt, rode to Cook Field for the Homecoming game. Her attendants, Carolyn Senter, wearing a red formal with gold scattered through the skirt, and Mae Ann Wollam, wearing a blue ruffled formal, rode to the field in a red and white Buick. Her majesty was escorted by Rodney Shade to the center of the field for the gala coronation cere- mony held during the half-time of the game. After being presented to the crowd attending the Ott- awa-Atchison game, Bettv was crowned queen by Fred Harder, co-captain of Ottawa's football'team. Following the game the queen and her attendants reigned over the Homecoming dance held in the junior high gymnasium. The three girls reigned from a beautifully decorated throne which was shaped like a crown. The white crown was deco- rated with the letters O. H. S. in red crepe. Over the heads of the royalty was a false ceiling of red and white streamers. Manv past graduates of Ottawa High attended the Homecoming game and dance and among this group were a number of past Homecoming queens and their attendants.
