Her parents are-or ought to be-Stacy and Lydia Bolton, man and wife actress producer team. They think they'd like children but the theater is too absorging for the present to spare any time for other matters. Heaven gives up hope of Stacy and Lydia's doing their duty as parents and sends Charles, an angel and his helper angels to bring Item back to Heaven. But Item wonit go with Charles because she wants to be born to Stacy and Lydia and no one else. Charles disobeys his orders and stays to help Item. Charles ap- pears as Slim, a cowboy fro mMontana and wealthy owner of the Flyin' Angel ranch. The Boltons are delighted with him, Lydia especially, and Charles tries to persuade her that her real role in life is motherhood. He does this so success- fully that Stacy is alarmed. Lydia seems about to desert the theater and Stacy doesn't want her to. So Stacy checks on Slim's background and finds he has no ranch, money and is unknown in Montana-and what's now, he resembles a criminal wanted by the police! Two policemen appear to take Slim to jail. Slim laughs and tells them that he is an angel and will disappear now. But he does not disappear because his Heavenly powers are gone. Heaven is punishing him for disobeying orders, but Item starts praying for him and he disappears. The policemen in terror, go to the nearest church and Stacy and Lydia finally decide they want a child. Item will finally be born to the Boltons and Charles goes back to Heaven, mission accomplished.
