The Winners Take It All A winner is one who is victorious, and successful. It is one who strives for a specific goal and goes to great lengths to achieve his or her goal. Ottawa-Glandorf is proud to have many winners. Great endurance and motivation sent senior Jeff Duling to state competition in Cross Country. During the year Jeff ran many miles to prepare for his hard earned trip to Columbus. Working together the Ottawa CYO team earned a state berth. Determination helped them to defeat many opponents and to place forth in the state. The mile relay team consisting of Dean Mormon, Larry Heiing, Brian Kaufman, and Randy Hohman advanced to the state track meet in Columbus where they qualified for the finals and ran to an eighth place finish. Athletically and academically inclined Junior Scott Schroeder placed 201 out of 29,000 students in the National High School Mathematics Exam in the state of Ohio. These Winners tried to take the highest honors in their event. Each one was filled with a huge sense of achievement and knew that their hard had been rewarded. With the help of willing teachers, students were guided through a maze of numerous activities. The seniors united to produce an excellent musical after hours of practice. They were also brought together for the last time at their graduation ceremony. The juniors worked very hard to create Oriental Cardens. The result was an enjoyable evening at the Prom. Students from all classes participated in the talent show and in building floats for the homecoming parade. Whatever activity it happened to be, students found that working Together Is Better.
