fSgag w ms THUNDERBOLT 630 GLENDALE AVENUE OTTAWA, OHIO VOLUME X 5 It was a cool, c risp night for football. Titan Stadium was packed for the 1973 Homecoming game against Wapakoneta. Everyone rose as the hand played our Alma Mater. The senior football players escorted each Homecoming attendant and last year's queen, Anita Quinn, across the field. The crowd’s cheering grew louder as the 1973 Homecoming Queen, Lynn Cavanaugh, was escorted across the field to the tune of “A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody.” After the crowning ceremony, cameras flashed throughout the stands as picture's were taken of Queen Lynn and her court. The spirit was undoubtedly high for O-G was undefeated and this was Homecoming, O’ the Seniors’ last Homecoming game. Then the football players, coaches, and managers ran out on the field, and soon it was time for the game . To the fans the game was exciting; to the players it was hard fought, even though the Titans had it wrapped up by the halftime. O-G went on to win the game 22-7 to keep our w inning streak alive. SENIORS’ MEMORIES Here we are altogether at last. Did those twelve years ever go fast? We came in as freshmen, very inexperienced, too, but soon learned how to take it, many an initiation we went through. W'e received our class rings in our sophomore year. Boy, were we glad that they were finally here. The floats that we made weren’t always the best, but two years out of four, ours beat all the rest As a junior and senior to the prom we hoped to go. When we were asked we didn’t say “no”. When we saw the success, of our Junior prom, Mac Arthur's Park, our entire Junior class was as happy as a lark. A Song of the Islands, Our prom when we were Seniors, was a very lovely gift from our schoolmates, the Juniors. W hen we began working on our Senior Musical, South Pacific, we knew in the end that it would be terrific. Now as we depart through the school’s front door, we are very proud of OUR CLASS OF 1974. by Rose Ann Riepcnhoff 28 Steven J. Alt Marlene A. Beckett Timothy J. Beckman Catherine A. Bellman Linda A. And during the basketball season, when there wasn’t as much to cheer about, they worked even harder to keep the famous Titan spirit alive. The reserve and the freshman squads were right behind the future varsity stars and cheered them on to victory. Although the styles have changed between the first printing and now, the joy and laughter, tears and sadness, thrill and excitement, and satisfaction from rewards will always remain. The staff and I hope we have captivated some of the memorable moments of yesterday so that you may enjoy them in tomorrow’s coming years. Thanks to the fine merchants who contributed to this book for making the annual possible at the lower rate to the student body. Thanks, too, to the photographers and to Marquita Huber who used her talents and time to design the endshects. Special thanks go to the staff members who worked hard and diligently -especially at the end of the school year when so many pages of this yearbook remained to be completed.
