Ottawa-Glandorf Administrators The Board of Education members — Seated: Virgil Ellerbrock, Vice-President; Robert Weis, President; Leslie Ratliff, Superintendent; Carl Frick, Clerk. Standing: James Crawfis, Thomas Studer, and Allan Klemm. Mrs. Margaret Mormon Secretary to the S. Butler University Superintendent ED. B. G. S. U. To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony. My Symphony by William Henry Channing 1810 - 1884 Mr. Leslie Ratliff Congratulations to this year’s THUNDERBOLT staff and advisor, Mr. Gossman, on the fine manner in which this project was undertaken. I'm certain pleasant recollections of the time and efforts expended are yours and the knowledge of satisfactory completion fulfills your personal challenge. The young history of O-G does not permit foundations of depth on its own. But there are underlying traditions of the home, church, and the communities which allow a wealthy supply. May our students learn understanding of these and extend contributions of their own. For yours is the responsibility to learn, to learn that you may learn to live. Thomas G. Wright B. The Ottawa-Glandorf faculty has aided and advanced the academic and athletic achievements of the O-G student. New faces and new ideas have stimulated new interests of the students. The faculty members not only teach the students, but offer guidance and assistance to the O-G teenager. Efforts of the faculty have certainly made O-G one of the top-ranking schools (in sports and scholastics) in this area. K(tKI ((| Compliments of CARL'S BARBER SHOP

O-GHS Faculty Mrs. Marilyn Siebenick is a recent addition to O-G's office staff. In addition to assisting in the principal's office, she is the secretary for the guidance department and a study hall monitor. The Library, under the supervision of Miss Karen Smith, has an excellent supply of reference books, magazines and novels for the O-G student. That its facilities are well-used is evidenced by an average of half the student body visiting the library every day. Ottawa-Glandorf's Music Department includes a girls' chorus and mixed chorus, concert and stage bands, and a wind ensemble. In addition to giving several concerts during the year, the wind ensemble and chorus both participated in statewide contests. The band also presents a cabaret concert in the spring. The Physical Education Departments are under new direction this year. The students have been kept busy with such activities as basketball, volleyball, calisthenics, and dancing. Meeting two and three times a week, the boys and girls are also getting the opportunity to use many of the new facilities in the gym. Mr. Louis Breece Instrumental Music Bluffton College, B. S.
