Hey, what goes on here The vocal music department plans ac- tivities for all interested students from the seventh through the twelfth grades. The junior high chorus performs at the Christ- mas Carol Service and at a Spring Concert. They rehearse in small general music classes where the emphasis is on the en- joyment of music rather than on performance. The high school chorus is composed of three high school singing groups -- the girls' glee club, the boys' glee club and the A cappella choir. This chorus performs with the band at Christmas time and in a Spring Concert later in the year. The two glee clubs also perform in the spring and inother programs if they can be arranged. The A cappella choir is a select group of students who sing at many activities during the year. Besides singing in the programs mentioned above, the choir sings at church services, hospitals and other community activities. The department tries to provide oppor- tunities for small ensembles at both the high school and junior high level. The two boys' quartets shown on this page have sung for many organizations throughout South- western Michigan. The vocal music department extends an invitation to anyone who enjoys music to participate in one of these groups. We will enjoy working with you and believe you will enjoy working with us.
