n 'F T, ,QB EBRIAMIWE Q ' LEAGUE CONTEST nSTRANGER'THAN FICTIONU The R. E. N. League one-act play contest was held at Otis, March 21. The six schools participating were McCracken, Bison, Bazine, Alexander, Schoenchen and Otis. McCracken won first, Bison, second, and Otis, third. ' Otis presented a dramatic episode, nStranger Than Fict1on. The characters were Leonard Folkerts, who played the part of Joe, a young criminal striving to go straight, Fredric Rothe portrayed the writer who was desirous of publishing a crime story, and Alvina Schlegel acted the role of Molly, the girl in love with Joe. Roland Schlegel was stage manager and Mrs. Hartman directed the play. Hi-Y AND G. R. UTAKE IT EASYH The members of Hi-Y and G. R. presented a three act comedy, UTake it Easy,U on March 25. The characters in the play were, Mrs. Imanda Highgate, owner of the house, played by Doris Kell, Nancy Highgate, Mrs. Highgate's daughter, Betty Kerbs, Tom Lawrence, Nancy's flcvcr, Wesley Hayes, Lon'Torence, a house painter, Eugene Harder, John Florenz, an unknown quantity, Lavern Mausolf, Florence, the maid, Carol Lee Schlogel, Ph1lip,the butler, Hans Baum, Mary, the cook, Furl Brack, Arthur, the yard boy, Billy Moore, Beagle Jones, the detective, Daniel Brack. The play was directed by Mr. Peck, the sponsor of the Hi-Y. The prompters were Buena Rose Brack and Norma Muth. Kenneth Kerbs served-as stage manager. 4-'elif ETH?
