While the staff did not actually work at the dawn's early light, they did work hard on the annual. The staff has willingly cooperated and worked together on this annual. If it gives our readers as much pleasure reading it as we had in writing it, then our work will be well worth the effort. The Otis Rural High School, which was constructed in 1951, is located in the north part of town. It is a steamrheated, two story brick building and houses fifteen rooms and a large auditorium. ' A All the science and art rooms are on the first floor. The hall floor is made of colored granite. At the west end of the hall are the manual arts rooms. The home economics and sewing rooms are at the east end. The science room is along the south side. The wood-work in the rooms is light oak and the ceilings are covered with compo-board for acoustics. The auditorium, which is used as the gymnasium as well as the assembly room, is in the center of the building. It contains a good stage, a very fine hardwood floor, and the new fan-shaped basketball goals. Approximately 700 people can be seated in the auditorium. ' ' The class rooms, including the music room, the prinoipal's office, study hall, and the library, are located on the second floor. Nearly all the rooms in the building have been equipped with venetian blinds, The building is ll7 feet wide and 120 feet long. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, with the football field to the west and a concrete tennis court to the east. Along the sidewalk leading up to the building, a mulberry hedge grows. Chinese elm trees are planted along the curb south of the school building. The grounds are covered with grass and flowers.
