11+ CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago in September, Ruth Boyd , Gary Crewell, Mary Shaver Shaver, Mary Goble, Ida Hotaling, Dean Hyatt, Marian Rake, Francis Sabedra, and Robert Tuttle entered the first grade at Otego Central School, not giving a thought to the trials and tribulations yet to come. In the second grade Arlene Ackley, Mary Hitchcock, Caroline Lent and Keith Trask joined us. We studied all about Indians. In the third grade we built a grocery store and learned to make change. This year Sylvester Lloyd and MerrittRose joined our ranks. In the fourth grade, we learned multiplication and division of fractions. We were joined this year by Jack Callahan, Thelma Stilson, Lois Yager, and Robert Haney. In this grand fifth year of our schooling, which we remember so well, we all had to do science experiments in front of the class. This is easy to rem mber because Bob Tuttle aimed a bottle of compressed air at Ruth Boyd. This year Melvin Rolph and Sonja Thorsland joined our ever growing group. Charles Holmes joined us in the sixth grade. We were quiet and studious this year, dreaming of happy days in high school. During the first part of our seventh year we lived in the terror of the terrible initiation which was due us. When initiation finally came upon us, it wasn't half as bad as we had expected we were joined this year by James Locke, Anita Norton, Lolo and Jack Reed and Delbert Wood In the eighth grade we took the annual trip to the State Capitol at Albany and to Howe Caverns. In the ninth grade we were joined by Dennis 0'Mara and Donald Schulz. Our first dance with music by the Woodhull Boys was a great success. The tenth grade classes were attended more seriously and the work was done a little better, as we now were nearing the long awaited year. In the eleventh grade we surprised the teachers by really getting down to work for a short while to make them think we were at last beginning to wake up and realize that there wasn't much time left. In this our last year of high school we think ahead and wonder what the future has in store for us. It is always a pleasure to think back over the years we spent here at O.C.S. As this goes to press we are eagerly looking forward to the Senior Trip which many of us have worked very hard to earn. We were joined this year by Verna Hewitt and Ronald Graves.
