They lost to Hoagland, beat West Union, bowed to Lancaster, defeated Lafayette, lost to Roanoke, upset Hartford, lost to Elm- hurst, and next defeated East Union and Liberty in succession. Ossian was favored as a strong contender for the county championship, but they were defeated by Jackson. The Bears returned to seasonal competition by defeating Berne, lost to Bluffton, and regained their winning ways by beating De- catur Catholic, Avilla, Lancaster, and Rockcreek. They dropped a close one to Huntington Twp. and ended the season by whipping Geneva. Ossian entered the sectional tournament with high hopes of winning the coveted crown. Things started off fine as the Bears won a thriller from Chester and added a tingling victory by nipping Jackson, but then the walls came tumbling down as they dropped the big one, the final game, to Bluffton.
