Spence, his high school age, trouble getting-into-children, and attractive wife walkintothe run-down, dilapidated parsonage at their new parish, it's quite a shock but that's only the beginning. Rev. Spence finds the church building starting to disintegrate, the congregation split into warring factions and the choir a cross between the devil's grandmother and a swarm of mountain Wildcats , and that's not the worst. The town is being poisoned by bigotry. Eileen and llartzell, the teen age children, are pretty disgusted at havingabeen yanked out of a comfortable parsonage and a swell high school, But then Hartzell meets pretty Louise, and Eileen lginrmduced to Ronny, the Football captain. The uproarious complications that result make even more diffi- culties for Rev. Spence. His struggle to build a new church, organize a new choir, and crush intolerance, leads to a pitched battle among his flock, and then the very threat of his being dismissed from the clergy. On the day he is to leave for the conference to defend himself, Rev. Spence has a minor accident that puts him in bed. At the same time, Hartze1l's personal complications have led him not only to the brink of romantic disaster, but right into the local hoosegow and just when the entire future of the Spence family depends on him. The surprising, whirlwind conclusion rings down the curtain on an inspiring and yet laugh packed evening 's entertainment. 3 8 y 5 5 A-L , ,S J Ts I .,f:?lfl .. , N The following students played roles in the production: Reverend Fraser Spence QPrologue and Narrariony Reverend William Spence ia ministery . . .
