Resler, Student 'Manager, B. Amburn, N. Pape, D. Johnson, S. Sample, D. Linde- mann, J. Sorlie, Student Manager. , FIRST ROW: K. Eichler, F. Scherrer. In the winter, a young man's fancy turns to thought of basketball-lightly if he is on the sidelines, seriously if he is on the squad. Corn, forward, plays the backboard for most of his points. He had 3 years on the first team. Joe holds top place in scoring honors. Pape, a fighting guy, made him one of the important men of the team. Neal had 3 years on the varsity. Werling, center for the Bears, gave a true interpretation of team spirit. His ability on the backboard made him a powerful offensive and defensive player. Amburn, a No. 1 defense man had 2 years on the Varsity. Ossian will miss this good ball handler with a lot of fight and drive. Witte, guard, plays the corner and has an eye for uncanny shots. This is his second year on the varsity. His height-added to the making of the team. Johnson, a substitute forward, has a lot of drive under the basket. This is his first and last year on the team. C. Lindemann, a senior guard, is a good handy man to the team through his height. D. Lindemann, with him as long shot specialist, Dave will be a real cog in the next year's team.

KEY GF MEMORY The Ossian Bears came through as the Dark Horse in the Wells County tourney, to win the county championship from Lancaster 28-26 in an overtime. Ossian started off by defeating Chester, who was considered the toughest team in the county 29-28. The Bears displayed brilliant team work to defeat Rockcreek in the semi-finals. In the final game of the tourney, which was a slow and stalling one, Amburn tied the score for the overtime, and joe Corn put in the deciding basket. Amburn served his team well by coming through with baskets at the most needed time. With the co-operation of a good team and careful coaching made such playing and victory possible.
