r. Class Poem Here is the end of another year. From the class of '47 you now shall hear. We've only tried to do our best, So don't be critical in your test. First a salute to our sponsors grand., Who all through this year have maae a great stand. To Miss Hoopengardner and Mr. Gerwig. - A Go our heartiest thanks, for the small ana :ne big, And to Mr. Benson who through thick and thin, Spent a lot of his time to help us win. And to all the taculty upstairs and down, Who helped us here and all around. For Miss Logan we give a cheer. Without her there'd be no Oracle here. Miss West did a lot, here and there. Better help couldn't be found anywhere. Mrs. Archbold's daughter Ioan, ls a likely wile for any man. For all twelve years she's been with us, And never makes a bit of fuss. Richard Bard was in both our plays, l-le's editor of Bear Facts, too, And we hear from lots oi girls, That he also can pitch the wooll Eldora Bauermeister is musically inclined, She's artistic, domestic, and very refined. She can bake a cake or turn a hem. As a wife she'll be a gem. King of Sports is our guy Cy, Who keeps himself in the public eye. He gives the girls many a thrill. We all like Les and we always will. Norma Baumgardner has big brown eyes. You can tell by her grades she's very wise. Her hair is naturally curly and brown, A nicer girl just can't be found Phyllis Carnes is next on our list, If she should leave, she'd certainly be missed. This glamorous gal was in both our plays, And yell leader during her senior days. A cute little gal is Irma Lou, She is a friend to all of you. This year she was our own cheer leader, We can't do without her, because we need her. Shirley Dalton works in a store, This attractive girl has friends galore. She had a whiny part in the senior play, But usually she's bright and gay. Next we come to Georgie Farr. He drives around in a Chevie car. His mouth's the biggest in the class, But .with us :oniors he will pass. Well, well, here's Floellen Fryback, For playing the piano she has a knack. She says shes a friend so the boy next aoor, But we wonder it it Coxzldnt be something more Helen Gallrneyer lives :em Poe. lflhen you tall: to her she giggles and says Oh . lunior irorn Hoagland is he: man, Hes tall and handsome ana 'req tan. Anna Heinrich whom you all know, Can really bake and cook and sew. Shes very quiet and also shy. But we know Anna will always get by. Leora Belle is a very nice girl, And around ner tace, her hair does curl. She is very contented as you all know, And sets everyones heart aglow. We've heard Maggie Hilgernan is not hard to please, That she and Cal have that awful disease. lt Consists oi four letters but means a lot. The disease is Love , believe it or not. Our girl coming up is quite artistic. Shes short, she-'s gay, and a cute little trick. nf' --i 'i . a.tv rioover will walk througn -iie, Looking, waiting, for a man without a wife. lxlary Esther from here in town, Seems to be one of our class clowns. Wnen she goes by, you should see her smile, She has a grin that will beam for a mile. Gaylord lackson is short and sort ot slim. Worrying about chemistry make him thin. When he gets married and has eight or nine, Everyone will say he's doing iine. Robert Kiefer who has no girl, Sits around with his head in a whirl. And now when he wants to spoon, He sits by himself out under the moon. loyce Kincaid says, How do I look? She has a fit it there's a crook That shouldnt be there, when lohnny's around To make a show in this big town. Larry Kreigh likes the girls, And more than that he prefers the curls. BV and by he'll get his dame, Bat ':1e're -not going to tell leer name. , One ol our basketball players is lerry, At Pat's house he likes to larry. I-le doesn't have his ring anymore, He put it on Pat's finger by the door. Another from Tocsin? My, oh, myl That town surely can't be dry, With such a qirl as one like this. CLASS POEM Continued Ellis McFadden is a senior lad, Who has a certain junior for a fad. I think Maxine really hits the spot, ls what 'Ellis savs when people quiz him a lot. Doris Elsie Miller hails from Tocsin way, The place can t be found on every map. But thcre's lots of excitement in that little town, When Doris falls in cr he-wolf's trap. Dorothy Miller says boys are a bother, They tell all they know to one another. Shell let them be for auite a span, To go where she pleases and whenever she can. Our very capable president in '45, Mar ane likes classical music as well as jive. Y I Could you imagine her hair being blonde? Of tall, dark, men she's very fond. Marjorie Scherry is a quiet lass, Still she's friendly to all that pass. As for boys she says, They don't worry me. l'll find one when l'm ready, tee, hee. Red hair and temper always go together, But we:-'re sure to Paul it doesnt matter. His crimson hair and green shirts really harmonize. Whom Paul will marry we can't surmise. Pat lives a high strung life, And for this man jerry, She s held her heart open, patiently hopin'. Some day the man to marry. With a nice personality and very pleasing voice, Mary Mae will surely be some lucky man's choice, She is good in art and in cooking, too. She surely shouldn't be difficult to woo. Now, my friends. there's Lc:Verne Slane. The boys think she's really a dame. When asked when she would settle down, l.aV?rnedsaid, When the right type l have oun . She was our sectetary in her sophomore year. You always know when Ioann is near. She s good in basketball and volleyball too, When looking for a mate not every one will do. Marcella, is a red headed Springer. Destined to be a good stenographer. Although, she seems to like a domestic life, Maybe she'll be a contented house wife. Robert Springer is the lad with a jeep. We can hear it coming with its mild peep, peep. He was Mr. Butterworth in our junior play, But in most classes he has little to say. 22 His parents named him Roger Roy, We all call him Stoney, He's our classes' great big boy, Who is anything but honey. Russel Thurber's the shortest in our class, He ll never settle down to just one lass. But as you all know he's the power to talk, And when he gets mad, my how he'll squawk. loan Valentine, is a quiet lass. We never know when she's in class. But when she catches the man in her life, He'll have to talk some to equal his wife. Dale is one of the many Werlings, Uncle Omar, to we seniors. He's tall, he's slow, he has cr head of cury hair. When he wants to be heard, we know he's there. Dorothy Werling is next on our list, She's tall, and blonde and full of zist. The picture editor for our Oracle, Dot won't stop for any obstacle. Wilmer is another of the Werlings, Butch is our senior president. He seems the quiet and bashful type, But the girls that go out with him never gripe. The next is a short, black-headed fellow, He hails from across the bridge. Of course, Wayne Wickliffe is the man, Near him youll usually see Ruth Manns. Mary Lou sports a diamond on her left finger, We don't know how long to Ray she'll linger, Said Ray, I want a sewer and an especially qood cook, And if you can do that, you're hooked. Now this is the line-up for the game. We're sure the winning won't be tame. You see it's Grads vs. The World. And on the floor our lives may be hurled. So goodby, dear students, teachers, and friends, All good things must come to an end. We bid you farewell, and wish you luck. May your lives be as nice as a book. Floellen Fryback Patty Hoover Anna Heinrich Ioan Archbold
