We had no worry on our minds for we were all happy to be starting to school, Our eager little group, guided by Miss Helena Mahnensmith, later composed the graduating class of 19117. To increase our knowledge for further education we struggled through the second grade. Miss Esther Hoopingardner, our instructor, was a living example for us. ln starting our third year we found we lost seven pupils. They were Flor- ence Schaffer, Ronald Hellolig, Velma Harris, lunior Meyers, Garnet Fuller, Lucile Carl, and Norma Bailey. To help make up this loss, David Somers, Ro- salie Haiflich, and Patricia and Phyllis Scott joined us. Our final enrollment at the end of the year was thirty. Miss Helen Archloold was our teacher. When September rolled around in l939, we found ourselves on a different side of the school building and ready to occupy the fourth grade room. By the end of the year, Dale Archloold and Maxine Miller left while Delores Patterson, 18 , 4 A? I
