Class History In September of 1934, there came to the Ossian School, thirtybne students willing to start our school life. After three weeks, Richard Stults entered. We were guided through our lirst year by Miss Helena Mahnensmith. The second year we dropped to only twenty-six members. We gained Shirley Bryant, Doris Dettmer, and Donna Gudakunst. Our loss was much greater with the withdrawing of Vaughn Davison, Betty lane Dunlap, Robert Hartley, Clarence Kahn, Richard Meilicke, Florence Miller, Frank Talarico, Laura Wilson, and Robert Fox. Miss Esther I-Ioopengardner served as our pilot. After a four month's vacation, we began our third year with a membership of twenty-seven. Bernice Stoppenhagen withdrew. Robert Decker, Donna Prough, Annette Wall, and Richard Coates had joined us. Then in February, Io Ann Gephart joined us, and in March, Lucille Cooper entered. Our total then was twenty-nine. Helen Archbold helped us through this year. The next fall we were guided through our fourth year by Miss Elaine Miller. Peggy Bushee moved away, but Harold Elzey and Nora Maier joined us. During the year Dale Brake and Clara lane Enlow joined us, and Richard Meilicke came back. Our membership was then thirty-two. On entering our fifth year we found that we had lost Richard Meilicke, Dale Brake. Irene McClellan. Richard Stults, and Lucille Cooper. We were glad to welcome john Flower, Richard Hulvey, Earnest Rittenhouse, and Beverly Patterson. Our total has now dropped to twenty-nine. We were piloted by Miss Marie Alsman. The sixth year of our journey was piloted by Mr. Lloyd Way. As Irene McClellan, Nora Maier, Don Brown, and Alyce Ann Hedges entered, we are sorry to say that Harold Elzey, Earnest Rittenhouse, Clara lane Enlow, Iohn Flower, Ioan Klein- knight, and Eugene Kumfer withdrew. Only twenty-seven were enrolled in our class at the end of our sixth year. Our grand total for our seventh year was thirty-one. Norman Ditmar, Robert Lewis, Robert Iohnson, Lurrel Melville, and Richard Ester were added to our list, but Irene McClellan withdrew, and Io Ann Gephart moved away in February. Our sponsor for this year was Victor Stech. On our eighth journey we had found that we had lost Richard Ester, Annette Wall, Nora Maier, and Norman Ditmar. We were glad to welcome Ianette Sowards, Anita Lindeman, Doyle Miller, Eleanor Werling, and Melvin Werling. We had a very successful year with Earl Moore. Thirty-two was our total enrollment. On entering our ninth year we found that we had lost Robert Lewis, Ianette Sowards, Doyle Miller, Alyce Ann Hedges, and Robert Iohnson. Our gain more
