Class As we come to the end of high school. We regret that we must part: Our colors, blue and gold, VVill always be in each heart. We've left the gym, the corridors, The library, and the stairs, And four hard years of carving Upon the desk and chairs. Our sponsors, who have guided us, Should not feel their work in vain. Because each of their faces, In our hearts will forever remain. First on our list is handsome Van. Only, Amburn does the swooning. His acting and his sketches are good! But did you ever hear his crooning? Gene Ault gets along with boys, But stays away from girls. Our basketball manager says. VVho likes all that lipstick and curls? Marvin Bauermeister is a very nice lad. VVith dimples in each cheek. He's a basketball player and says, lt's because of my Fine physique. A sweet little girl with rosy cheeks, Our secretary in forty-four. Vonola is a sweet young girl. Now, who would ask for more? VVe have a pilot in our class Bell, who was seen in both our plays, A shapely figure, a pretty face Can put him in a daze. Our handsome president in '45, Goes for girls at Hoagland. The girls at Ossian are not for me. Must surely be Vernon's slogan! Margie Carver-that's our gal! She really gets around the town. A character actor and salesman too! She's always been our class clown. The most jolly gal of our class, Dorothy Confer-wouldn't it be? Good in sports and studies too! She's tops with us all, as you can see! Poem of '46 We have an actor in our class, But is it Bing or is it Frank? Lyle was our president in -li, And on him, our money, we'll bank. Tiny and cute with always a smile, A popular girl, that's Faye. A line actress-in both our plays! She says, Basketball boys are O. K. A softball player of two years, The janitor of our school! Iules Elzey is our superman Of the halls and classrooms too. A librarian and secretary of our class, A sweet young girl with a mind that's keen, You must all know who we're talking about But for those who don't, it's Phyllis lean. She is tall, slender, and pretty, Was a nurse in our junior play. Charlotte is a friend of all And will belong to the Navy someday. Next in line is a regular guy, The Gable of our class. Wherever you see a green Ford, Donald Herman is sure to pass. Around girls he's a little shy: Around sports he's on the beam, lim'll tackle any old player To help raise the score for our team. Late to class most every morn, With a grin and sleep in each eye. Bruce Hunters our basketball man And president of Ossian Hi-Y. A gal from the small town of Yoder, Marjorie Iohnson is nice and tall, Did you ever see that girl in sports? She positively-on the ball'. We have but one majorette in our class. Her name?-why it's Avis Kay. Our junior and senior plays she was in. Shell make a good wife someday. So full of pep and full of vim- Anita's our own cheer leader! She's president of our Sunshine Society: You'll like her when first you meet her! Page li

Class Poem of '46 CC011ri11ued! Audrey, nice with pretty curls, All three seems to fit together, Always a friend from day to day, She'll get through in all kinds of weather. McGee!--FibberP-No, it's Ray! ln '45 he was our vice-president, A basketball player, an all around guy, I-le makes Kingsland a pretty good resident! A sweet gal with a sense of humor, That's Thelda our farmer girl, All the Ossian boys try to date her, But she won't give one a whirl. A girl in our class who stays out of trouble, The bashful and shy Mary Reed, A very good worker and kind hearted too! She's a true loyal friend yes, indeed! A player for our Ossian bears, That's really what we call Roger! VVhen Orvil sees a teacher coming, He says, Brother, let's dodger her! Naomi Simerman is good at acting And is always up with the latest fad, A lot of boys have fallen for her. But who said that was bad! A girl of our class who is always neat And is a pretty strawberry blonde, Ruth never goes in for the Ossian boys, But a truer friend could never be found. She cuts a real Figure in sports, But always watches her calories, In future years you're sure to find That Eileen will draw big salaries. Our president is a busy guy- Iunior really gets things done, A thrilling figure in his basketball suit, Ossian girls all say, He's the one! A real blonde and loads of curls A baker and fine cook too, All the boys when seeking a wife Say, Bernice, will certainly do. A personality to charm all people, Talents too numerous to mention, Bernie will get a man that has succeeded, And never use old-age pension. A quiet girl with a busy manner, That's Eleanor, our typing whiz, She has a boy friend, we know, But she won't tell us who he is. She has a ring on her left linger, Our secretary of last year, She'll make a model wife some day, Yes, Erma, to Rex is most dear. A quiet fellow of our group, A guy who defies description, When any girl's heart is broken, Melvin will fill the prescription. The man who brought us out of debt, Dale knows how to finance money, I-le's really swell in everything And girls think Wilburn is a honey. An old lady in our senior play, But really so young and spry, Woodward has a favorite past time, That is, many clothes to buy. For a girl that is nice to know, A regular Iohnny on the spot, See Marjorie Wicklilfe, a pretty girl, We all sure like her a lot. Here's a guy whose a Casanova, And can really play basketball, Many hearts Lloyd has broken, Because for a kiss he doesn't ask-at-all! Many hearts she has caused to flutter, She studies and never does cease, She's popular and also well known, Patty's last, but certainly not least. Now, we might forget our old friend, From whom we did often borrow, But as the great Shakespeare has said, Parting is such sweet sorrow. Our trials might seem hard and rough, And the end looked for from sight. Welll grit our teeth, and do our best, Trust in God and do the right! By Thelda Phillips, Faye Elliott Phyllis Furthmiller
