This year a new method of selecting King and Queen was introduced. After the football team had chosen five boys to be on the royalty each of the boys asked a girl to be his date. The week prior to Homecoming, the student body cast penny votes for their favorite couple. At the pep meeting on Friday each queen can- didate received a box with a colored rose in it. fabovej The girl receiving the odd-colored rose then knew she and her escort were King and Queen. Dawn Lee and Randy Abrahamson were this year's honored couple. frightp At the dance the royalty posed for a picture in front of the football centerpiece. fbelowj The theme song Halfway to Paradise, aptly described the evening for which the Inmates provided music.
