The Chiefs were '7-1 for the year and the Norse 7-2. Osseo-Fairchild's one loss was to Central 20-21 in the third game. Thirty-two boys earned letters in football for 1968. The high points of the season were top flight games against Augusta, Whitehall and the big win over Blair when everything seemed to be going against the Chiefs. The low point was a loss to Central early in the year. The one single factor responsible for the season was the attitude of the players who always felt they were better than the opponents and proved it. The Chieftains elected as co-captains two senior leaders, Kevin Johnson and Rick Frueh. The school year of 1968-69 was quite a change for all of us because of the consol- idationg but for the juniors, there were many other things that helped to add to an ex- citing year, We got our class rings when school started and later on sold class pins, We also sold candy in the spring which readied our class treasury for prom expenses, Every- one took part in decorating the gym for prom, which was a spring scene with the theme Traces of Love. Junior class officers were Dennis Hunchar, secretaryg Mike Polinske, presidentg Kevin Szydel, Ireasurerg and Marge Scheffer, vice president. The eighty-two seniors began classes a weeu rarer as members of the newly consolidated school district, Ulla Fredriksson from Sweden was a wonderful addition to our class for the year. She taught us much about the attitudes and habits of the Swedish, Our homecoming float, Norse are in Dutch, received third place. In May the class sponsored the Send a Mouse to College campaign. Through the project, enough money was collected to furnish 208 mice for cancer research. The senior class play, Our Girls, was a roaring success. Throughout the year each senior pondered over and made plans for his future. With the events of Baccalaureate, Class Night, and Commencement, we were filled up with a feelinguof regret about leaving our many friends, mingled with an excited eic-l pectation as to what the future would hold for us, We all have very fond memories of our years at O-F. A few words cannot begin to tell of the merits of such program. I had many wonderful experiences and learned so much. At the same time I hope I taught my German friends and family about America, and I hope I have been able to bring back some of my new understanding to my home community. I realize that many of the teachers and my fellow students made my wonder- ful trip possible, and I owe so much to them.
