Class iinsinrg Twelve years ago the Class of 1955 entered tne first grade Of those who started first grade at Fairchild Public School only nine Janet Emanuel, Jerry Johnson, Lois K ienke, Everett Papke, Larry Sobyak, Bernard Zimmerman, Leonard Zimmerman, Kenneth Janxe, and Nancy Kruschke are still among us Forty two strong, we began our high school career on August 29 1951 W were the usual eager Fr shmen, brimming with that naive self assurance that only Freshmen can posess Mr Robein, our class advisor, assisted us with the many problems that confronted us We entered our Sophomore year with the sincere determination to make the most of our remaining school life We started by attending numerous parties, basketball games and dances, but we conserved most of our energy for the forth coming Junior and Senior years Our Junior year was a period of steadv activity On March 25th and 26th we proudly presented our class play WThe Hoosier Schoolmaster W Miss Phillips and Mrs Olson were the directors With the assistance of Mr Haigh we decorated our new gym in prom array King John Susedik and Queen Patti Boullion reigned over the prom The theme of our Drom was WThe Old Lanpl1ghter,n and music was furnished by Howard Sturtz and his orchestra On August 30 l95L, we officially became seniors' The first event of our final year was tne receiving of our class rings on September 7t Following this, we seniors spent an unforgettable day in Uau Claire where we had our P1CCUFeS tiken at Aanes Studio Our Senior Class play, Spring is Tomorrow', was presented on November Ath and Sth It was ably directed by Mr Hyde n April lst, as the faint flicker of the sans first rays slowly appeared over the Eastern horizon of Fairchild, the s niors gathered at the foot of the Her we spent a me orable day attending the Ice rollies ard exploring these vast cities W will long remember and always treasure tnis, our class trip School ended 1n the bustle of activity of aebtlqq reddy for t e L ay Finally it arriv d On Pay 26th we d d h last time It was graduation d 9' ascen e B 9 Shep of Beacon H111 for the The manv cherished m mories NG H Ve a ner d Here E thro ghout our inscribed as past history on the f g life, into l1fe's scnool p qes J ine Now we E0 O school lives uf of school D-'S Ks Signed C2449 J Sl -o , . , . glass 117111 We, the Class of 1955, of the Fairchild High School, Village of Fairchild, County of Eau Claire, and state of Wisconsin, having well filled minds and super human memories, do make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament To the members of our beloved faculty, who look upon us with smiles of joy, we leave them the satisfaction of working with so great a class We also feel sorry for them for after trying for four years to pound knowledge into our craniums, the results are depressing' Yes, wg lggvg tngm, but we donut leave them much To the Junior Class we bequeath any stubs of pencils, erasers or scraps of paper that we may have left behind us in the haste of gathering up oureherish ed treasure for the last time To the sophomore Class we leaveour athletic ability so that they may bring fame and glory to Fairchild High School Julien King wills some of his height to Gary Knisely Kenneth Janke w1lls his quiet evenings at home to Bernard Adams so he can appear in school rested and refreshed Leonard Zimmerman wills his ability to find an appropriate ex cuse for absence from school to Leonard Rice Lois Krienke wills her giggles and her seat in the waste basket to Ilene Gorkowski Rosemary Olson will keep her diamond Jim Santo wills his corn to Eau Claire County farmers in hopes that its pro duction may merit more for them than it has for him Janet Emanuel wills her studiousness to Esther Szydel, so she may hope to graduate sometime Elaine Eisberner wills her mechanical ability to Bobby Lightfoot Larry Julien wills his manly physique to Lawrence Olson so he will have a figure to go with that handsome face Mary Holman receives two of Jerry Johnson's freckles as a sou venir Having enjoyed high school life thoroughly, Peggy Primus wills her way with the stronger sex to Karen Knuth Gary Schllcter wills hi bookkeeping prac tice set to the highest bidder in the Junior Class Harold Holman will leave so that Preston's bus may be quiet next year and the girls may have some more pests so their tongues may no longer be examples of perpetual motion Fred Berry will hope that the boys will keep their distance from Janice Matysik in her remaining years Everett Papke wills his lankiness to none other than Donald McClellan Evelyn Baures wills her air mall stamps and air mail letters always clutterlng her desk to anyone who can stand the strain of licking them or can keep her letters filed John Susedik wills his trips to Eau Claire to see his lawyer to his younger brother Frank Maurice B rka wills his very well used car to anyone who can pick up as many girls as he can Jim Matysik wills his ability to crowd in the lunch line to Tom Rlsler They say girls talk a lot but just listen to Bernard Zimmerman In a generous mood, Bernard wills his gift of gab to Sylvia Pettis Knowing that 'Silence ls Golden Doris Christiansen wills her quietness to Team Zimmerman Bernice Ives wills her single days to anyone who wants them She is getting married! Larry Sobyak wills his title 'Soapyn to the dirtiest kid in school Edward Olson wills his title nLightnlngn to Myrtle Thunder Raymond Thur wills his ability to drive cars to anyone who can afford it Feeling other fellows should get more fun out of life, Edward Selz wills his ability to collect love notes to Lyle Brunzlick Dancing, modern that is, is usually ol common know ledge among high school kids, but Arnold S1eg's dancing is different Arnold wills his dancing ability to Herbert Hess And we do, hereby constitute and appoint Mr M Laverty as sole executor of this our last will and testament In witness, whereof, we, the class of 1955, of Fairchild High School do hereby seal this will on the 25th day of May, in the Year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and fifty five Signed of O e peace.
