We Will Miss You Dear Miss Larsen: To those of us who have been fortunate enough to have been in your classes, you are one of the never- to-be-forgotten teachers. Always you have been keenly and sincerely interested in your pupils as in- dividuals, realizing their limitations as well as their potentials, and helping them to develop accord- ingly . . . You have been generous in your praise and kind in your criticism, making us strive, constantly, to do better. With your method of teaching literature, you have kindled in us a desire to surround ourselves with the best of writing. You have set an example of poise, consideration, and wisdom that your students will always remember and try to follow. Miss Larsen, the NOTEBOOK, on behalf of all your pupils, salutes you! 9 Dear Mr. Hielsberg: To what kind of man do people refer as a great guy ? Well, the kind of man who is always doing little things - or big things - for other people, things like offering his cottage for the faculty picnic, for instance, or lending a hand with a do-it-yourself project, the kind of man who can take over and organize things, the kind of man who really likes people and is friendly to everyone. And to what kind of instructor do students refer as a fine teacher ? Undoubtedly, to the kind who really knows his stuff and is able to get it across, the kind who is always willing to help a puzzled pupil, the kind who praises good work and suggests improvements on that which is not so good.
