AS WE ENTERED THE DOOR on the first day of school, we saw at once that something new had been added . It seems that during the summer a very handsome cage had been built in the main hall and we were told that, to relieve the con- gestion in the office, all excuses would be issued from this cage. Already a worn path leading up to each window is be- ginning to show! But the office changes went far beyond the merely physi- cal. Mr. Traeger, who had been our vice-principal, had be- come principal, while Mr. Fratt had moved into the vice- principal's spot. The offices of dean of boys and girls had been abolished and, in their stead, were two guidance coun- sellors, Miss. Wright and Mr. Weess, whose job it has been to give us understanding and help with our problems. In addi- tion, two new secretaries had been added to handle excuses and other administrative details which had formerly been the responsibility of the deans . . . All in all, these far-reaching changes have brought about a smoother running school. 9
