IIIYIC, H140 THE INDEX I7 ROM THE beginning of time, migrations have played an all-important role in history. j The long and dangerous trek across Asia Minor and Tibet made by thousands of Marco Polos, the California gold rush, the Mormons' journey into Utah, such mi- grations have been majestic, wierd, and far-reaching in their effects. But none of these exoda can lay claim to greater fame and influence that that of the present graduating class, when it first 1 made entrance to the guarded portals of Oshkosh High School in September, '36. About the first bit of business to be transacted by the lusty mob was the election of Tom Wolf to the position of grand potentate. Carlton Ziebell was chosen vice president, Ruth Gilbertson, secretary, and Harvey Meyer, treasurer. Soon the class undertook their second election. After the clouds of battle had risen, Audrey Bathke had supreme power, George Radtke was not quite as su- preme, Eddie Robl was secretary, and Meyer the efficient retained the treasure- ship. With Audrey Bathke as Belle and George Radtke Beau , they staged a barn dance with every available inch of space occupied. In September, 737, another little migration took place, and the class was ap- preciably swelled by junior high students from all over the city. lfVhat ho! The class now numbered better than 4oo. Apparently, the :A officers had served well, for in the next election the only change was Dick Bixby as vice president. just for variety, the class sponsored an all-school pep meeting. Oflicers of the semester were Dick Bixby, president, Eddie Robl, vice president, Eileen Perkins, secretary, and Eddie Nowacki, treasurer. In September, 1938, Robl was shoved up into the presidency and Don Brand was given a chance to display his vices by assuming the vice-presidency, Bob Stange became secretary, and Ed Nowacki, treasurer. Under the able direction of Miss Helen Wagner, the class sponsored a series of pep meetings for the football team. At one of these meetings the class introduced to the school the original all-girl Killer-Diller team. The junior class party was a huge success with the new oflicers, Bob Stange, june Schloerb, Eileen Perkins, and Frances Peterson in charge. Election time came and went again, leaving Stange and Peterson in ofiice and giving new duties to Thurman Fox, and Floyd Dietzo, and Miss Alma Link, adviser. And then came the prom! What was left of the class after book-covering occupied the Recreational gym for a good share of the night. Stange escorted the lovely Dorothy Hedke, Thurman Fox and Marion Dorn, Floyd Dietzo and Hazel Scovel, and Frances Petersen and Carlton Zichell completed the royal list. During the last semester, the Fitgerald regime of Fox, Stange and Hanneman occupied the throne.
