DEDICATION EHR City of Oshkosh has grown from a small settlement to a metropolitan center since its inception in the early part of the nineteenth century. Atypical American city, its growth portrays the advance of civilization. Its development along all lines of endeavor has been constantly promoted by its citi- zens. The most cherished hope of -its founders, that within its boundaries would reside a people who loved God and walked in his ways, has been accomplished. FOREWORD EHR good ship The Year of 1927 has completed its voy- age and rides atop the waves, tugging to be oH to seek new adventures. The eighty-seventh and eighty- eighth graduating classes ofthe Oshkosh High School now begin another voyage over the sea of life. It is for these graduates and for those students still in school that the staff of The 1927 Index has edited and published this book. If we have so finished our task that our work shall be the cause of memories of happy school days to our graduates and to the under-classmen, we shall feel that our ellorts have been well spent. P
