From Glennie I went to Oscoda. We found Patt Duchane still at home, writing the I4-page letters to Jerry everyday. Stationery and postage are her biggest expenses. She said that Pat Fish is now living a happy life with her husband, Marv, in the long, long, trailer. Chuck Bellhorh is running from college to college serenading all of the pretty girls. While walking through the Oscoda High School, I noticed Sharon Bell. She is working in the office while supporting AI while he nurses sick cows. Then we found Dolores Ellis in the gym. She is very busy now, coaching the girls' basketball team and saving a little time for ny. Dolores said Dick Brohl is flunking college every year so he can be on the football team. I met Carol Willhite on the street. She is still visiting the base--she can 't make up her mind yet. Carol was very chatty and told me Judy Weis finally got into the California University and is the head cheer- leader. She is also working as dishwasher in the cafeteria. Evelyn Cockill is Judy Weis' new sister-in- law and living in California, too. Evelyn is modeling Bikini bathing suitsl lstopped to change atire at Killmasters' Station and, much to my surprise, Paula Rohrer waited on me. She is chief mechanic there now. Paula tells me Alan Schorfhaar is coaching footgll at the new Alcona County High School. He has finally found a wife but no one has seen her yet as he is afraid someone will steal her from him. Beth McNichol is happily married to Dick but she is playing second-fiddle ---- to his drawing, that is. Harriet Hrskell is married to Charlie and mixing paint for him in her spare time. Nat much time, though as she is trying to teach their five little ones to ski. l walked into the A 8. P Store and found Jim La Forge is still stock boy. Don't give up--you'll make manager someday. Jim tells me Sharon Wampler is working for a travel agency in France. She is trying to snag a Frenchman as she likes their customs. She must have gotten a lot out of Mr. Vaughan's French clms. Speaking of far away places, we hear Shirley Brown is in India teaching the natives Jive talk. Bett I'lohman has given up selling records and is now in Hollywood making them. l saw Jim Davis, too. l'le said e's trying to save enough money to buy a sports car with a gas-gage that reag 'lFull, Half-full, Empty, and Start pitching woo . I was watching TV the other night and was surprised to see Mary Lou Bellhorn doing the iitterbug while taking the role of Peter Pan. I walked into Sie 8 Gerts and met Dave Skillman there, drinking his usual glass of milk. He is still a bachelor but, after getting his new iob as chemistry teacher at OHS, he has enough money to be thinking about going steady again. Dave tells me Jim Brown is a member of the Senate now. l'le moved to Texas soon after graduation and discovered oil. Albert Gasser is working very hard now, although not at any money-making He is still trying to figure out a simpler version to Einstein's Theory. Chi Soucie is an airline hostess and going all over the world. She is still playing the field, but seems to pre- fer pilots. Bob Hubbard has a fortune left to him by a rich uncle and has moved to I'lawaii. l'le says there is something dout the girls there that gets him. Nlaybe it's the grass skirts they wear. I decided to take a walk on the river and saw Bill Dingman practicing for the canoe races. He tells me he has won the Au Sable race for the l t five years. Marv Thomgon is now in the Wilbur Hospital after an accident when his power saw gat away from him and chopped his leg off at the knee. l'le is thinking about getting the other one cut off, too, so he will be the same height as his wife, Tina. While l was in Oscoda, I went to a dance. There l found the band featured was Martin Dumont's Stump Jumpers . They played great music and Martin says they play all over the country. Then l rec- ognized a member of the band. It was Roger Michaud on the drums. lt seems he hated to see Martin get famous all alone, so he learned to beat the drums. last but not least, our class president, Monty Kruttlin. Ps you know, he's the President of the Lhited States, and he's calling square dances in the White House every Saturday night. . i . ' :di 5 4 .
