X 5553, A World of Experience Experience has always been important to Mrs. Worley. As a science teacher she has trans- ferred this idea to her students. In the following interview, Mrs. Worley gave some insightful com- ments about her busy and very interesting life. How did you feel being the vale- dictorian of your class at such a young age? It was both frightening and devastating. I had been offered a scholarship to Pitt University, but everyone felt that I was too young to enter college, especially such a 176!FacuIty big university. No one would lis- ten to what I wanted. What degrees do you hold and in what subjects are they? I have a B.S. in Education, Bi- ology and Chemistry, M.S. in Molecular Genetics, M.S. in Cur- riculum and Instruction and 30 graduate hours in Computer Sci- ence. How do you spend your leisure time? Since I work 16 hours a day, I really enjoy my leisure time. I like to scuba dive and dissect comput- er programs. 5 2sg.Mafn What are your hobbies? We've heard that hang gliding is one! Mainly scuba diving and com- puters. I will eventually learn to fly. What was one of your more un- usual experiences in the field of science? While doing my research in ge- netics I had to work with children with Downeis Syndrome. I also traveled around the country pre- senting at conferences which al- lowed me to meet many promi- nent people in my field.
