Making Headlines By Robbie Scharton Reporting the events of the school year was the whole pur- pose behind the Chief Edition. The staff members spent most of the year interviewing, investigat- ing, writing and revising. Under the direction of their new advisor, Ms. Christine Eggle- ston, the students worked to pub- lish seven issues of the paper. The contents of the paper included editorials, cartoons, student spot- lights, special features, and stu- dent surveys. Advertisements from local merchants were also included. At the beginning of second se- mester a new law was passed re- stricting material which can be published in high school newspa- pers, but the Chief Edition staff tried their best to provide stu- dents with interesting, informa- tive articles that would entertain them as well as make them more aware of what was happening during the course of the year. Senior Jolene Nixon said, Getting the materials ready to go to press can be a real hassle, but when the paper comes back we really feel good about our- selvesf, dt -t With an accurate filing stystem, Jolene Nixon has no problem locating her pictures 168!Chief Edition
