Interact: I Servicing school and community By Kim Preston Interact Club was involved in many service activities. They devoted a lot of time and energy to their work. During the holidays, Interact members strove to help the needy. They helped at Kmart for an Angel Project for the needy children of the area. Nov. 26-Dec. 18. They sponsored the Holiday Blood Drive Nov. 30-Dec. 7, and the Salvation Army canned food drive Nov. 30-Dec. 8. They still managed to decorate the teachers lounge and brought in food for Christmas. Interact didnit stop after Christmas, they started out the New Year by helping at a Good- will sale of used hard-cover books at Tyrone Square Mall Jan. 27-31, and also helped St. Pete SPCA with their newspaper drive. Pres. Sheri Frogel said, Interact is the hard- est working club at Osceola. We're involved with school and our community. Making Headlines By Robbie Scharton Reporting the events of the school year was the whole pur- pose behind the Chief Edition. The staff members spent most of the year interviewing, investigat- ing, writing and revising. Under the direction of their new advisor, Ms. Christine Eggle- ston, the students worked to pub- lish seven issues of the paper. The contents of the paper included editorials, cartoons, student spot- lights, special features, and stu- dent surveys. Advertisements from local merchants were also included. At the beginning of second se- mester a new law was passed re- stricting material which can be published in high school newspa- pers, but the Chief Edition staff tried their best to provide stu- dents with interesting, informa- tive articles that would entertain them as well as make them more aware of what was happening during the course of the year.
