Learning Today Skills For Tomorrow By Rickey Ladd Promoting involvement in business and career training was the goal of Future Business Leaders of America CFBLAD. Through their business con- tacts and participation in competitions, this organ- inazation introduced its members to the real and very competitive world of business. Competition took many forms for these active students: shorthand, accounting, and typing were just a few. They competed with other high school students at the District level. On February 19, the FBLA members went to District competition where Sheri Frogel placed fourth in Business Eng- lish, Jessica Cross, fourth in Public Speaking, Ke- vin Bowers, fifth in Impromptu Speaking, Denise Dunn, third in Shorthand. Advisor Ms. Sandi Andrews and president Holly Johnson worked hard to increase student partici- pation in FBLA. They had more than fifty club members after the sign-up period. In Future Business Leaders of America, students found a release for their talents and some found a brighter future. The mem- bers also promoted and helped out in other projects that other clubs had, and encour- aged students to do so. When any event or project came up, the Spirit club really strove to support it.
