Happiness comes upon you unaware while you are helping others. Happiness is like perfume - you can't spray it on others without getting some on yourself. Happiness does not depend upon a full poc- ketbook, but upon a mind full of rich ' thoughts and a heart full of rich emotions. Happiness does not depend upon what happens outside of you but on what happens inside of youg it is measured by the spirit in which you meet the problems of life. Happiness doesn't come from doing what we like to do but from liking what we have to do. ,, Happiness grows out of harmonious relationships ' with others, based on attitudes of good will, ' . r tolerance, understanding and love. T I e Happiness is found in little thingsg a baby's ' V 1, smile, a letter from a friend, the song of a i jk. bird, a light in the window. I i' - Wilferd A. Some of the songs performed were Windy by the Association, Gingerbread Man song by Bobby Sherman, The Horse by Jesse James, and Light Sings by the Sth Dimenstion. Twelve girls were chosen in the spring of 1971 and were under the direction of Mrs. Wallin and Judy Elmblad. The girls had four money raising projects during the year. A car wash was held in the summer Where the girls had a lot of Wet fun. During the fair an added attraction was contributed with the dunking stool. Many turned up to throw balls and test their skill at dunking a dry girl. The final money raising project was taking care of two consession stands during the football season. In their second year the Chieftain- ettes are a roaring success! Ek- Lettermen TOP ROW, L. TO R.: G. Minnichsoffer, W. Ganley, B. Nelson, W. Hanson, D. Selzler, D. Springer, G. Kammerud, W. All are activities ,', Lx sponsored by our student council. The purpose of OSCAR is to promote social and educational activities within the school and to develop a R consciousness of student responsibility. Three persons from each class are elected to represent the student body. From these, officers are chosen to preside at biweekly meetings. One job of OSCAR's is to settle disputes between student body and administration. It took the duty of making decisions concerning homecoming and the date to hold the bonfire. OSCAR centered it's attention on Veteran's Day which was highlighted with the presenta- tion of the flag by Threase Kromrey in memory of her brother, Dennis. OSCAR also arranged several educational lyceums including an Afri- can stucly, and Olympic gymnast and a group of musicians. The holiday spirit was captured by our annual Christmas party, Dec. 22. Students gathered on the tarp in the gym for fun, food, and movies. Among the Snow Day activities were snow sculptures, broom ball, tobogganing and the Snow Day Dance. Even with all of OSCAR 's problems and decisions to make, it has proved to be a very rewarding W year for the Osceola Student Council Assembly of Representatives. --1-, Oscar at Work wnsunqgqg he 76 Q . wK.
