Sheri Wright concentrates during warm ups. Small Victories Despite the facts of the 1982-1983 Volleyball season, the girls had a good time. Proof of this was apparent if you ever happened to pass by their locker room before a game. The Varsity team would gather together and chant, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya!! This was the Lady Bulldog's way of psyching up themselves and psyching out their opponent. It was also a lot of fun. Cindy Christensen, Jr.; replied, We got pretty bizarre . . . Deb LeSuer used to put us under hypnosis. It was really a joke, but while we were under”, we concentrated on how we would serve, set, spike and bump perfectly. It helped calm our nerves. The Junior Varsity though, didn't do anything special to prepare for a game, but none the less, they tried to calm each other down before the games. Jean Sigler, Jr.; says, We give each other pats on the back and try to build confidence. It's a lot of Be calm, we can do it!” The Freshmen mostly rely on one person to get them psyched up for a game. Deb Langer, Fr.; said, We re usually too nervous to get psyched up for a game. But Christy Ericson usually gets pretty weird before the games. This makes us laugh and we really loosen up. All in all, the team helped each other out a lot to prepare for the games. This was important to help give them a positive attitude and make the team feel better about itself. Despite the losing season, they had fun and didn't look at it as a waste of time. Varsity members.
