Though inexperience was a main problem for the team, the year proved successful. Tim Bachenberg, Tracy Day, Pat Wieseman, and Joe Graham represented Osceola at the State Wrestling Tournament. Tracy and Tim finished fourth in their weight classes, the highest any Osceola wrestlers had placed since 1977 when Rick Johnson placed sixth. At the end of the year, special recognition went to Tracy Day and Joe Graham who were chosen as Most Valuable Wrestlers. Other awards went to Tracy Day and Duane Tonniges, Honorary Team Captains: Paul Hennings, Pat Kresha, and Dean Runquist, Most Improved; and Tim Bachenberg; All-Hustle Award. Student Managers were Tracy Walgren and Tim Hofbauer. The statistician was Tracy Walgren and the publicity was handled by Paul Hennings. 28 SENIORS: Tracy Day, Duane Tonniges, and Paul Hennings.
