Larry Theis Language Arts i 8L £ f Leland Vrooman Math Cecile Waldman Art This past year differed very little from others. Of course there were the new faces in the crowd, but the familiar ones were to be found in the familiar haunts around the building: Mrs. Chapman submerged under three feet of essays, Mr. Habben belaboring some “fascinating” govermental problem, Mr. Smolik barking orders in the predawn light of autumn, Mr. Andelt teasing some “innocent young thing” in the corridor. In the late summer the teachers opened their doors prepared to sell their wares to those who cared to buy. Someone learned how to sew a skirt, to bake a pie, to build a cabinet or speak a foreign language. There were also those who chose not to buy, but merely “window-shopped” throughout the term.
