Foreign Cultures Enter OHS In this past school year, we have been privileged to have three students from South America, Two of these were from Brazil--Nelson Tavares from Colatina, Brazil and Simone Ferreira from Salvador, Brazil, while Patricia CarUzares was from nearby Loja, Equador. While one may have thought this could cause grande” communication barriers, these three fit right in with the students at OHS. Toward the end of the year we found that Patricia knew all the recent slang and Simone was the ideal student all teachers look forward to having, but few actually get. Of course, we will always remember Nelson, who at the end of his stay in Osceola in January, turned out to be just as normal as the rest of us. We’re sure that when these students went back to their home countries, they had a variety of new and exciting experiences to remember.
