Bulldogs State Rated The Osceola Bulldogs football team bounced back from a disappointing 73 season to part an 8-1 record. Led by 14 seniors, Osceola rolled over eight opponents and were briefly rated 1 in the state before being upset by Fullerton 7-0. A new offense was unveiled by the Bulldogs in their first game, and it was good enough, along with a stout defense for a 46-0 victory over Genoa. Most of the Bulldog's games were big victories, as they averaged 22 points to their opponents five. Big victories in the season included a 30-6 win over state ranked Stromsburg, and victories over Polk and Clarks who were rated 4 and 5 respectively when Osceola met them. At the end of the season Osceola was rated 8th in the Omaha World Herald. Osceola had four All-Conference selections: Ron Fu-jan, Daryl and Doyle Nelson, and Mike Smith; and two honorable mention All-Staters: Dale Roehrs - A. P. honorable mention and Ron Fujan - World Herald and Lincoln Star. 26 Polk-Butler Insurance Osceola Implement

Hard Work and Burt and Dee's Bar Anderson Floor Covering Volleyball is becoming more and more popular each year at O. H. S. Thanks to all the support from the fans, and to the excellent coaching of Mrs. Teresa Christensen, the girls were able to pull through with a 7-5 seasonal record. The Varsity team was successful in bringing home a third place trophy from Conference Tournaments. JoAnne Gissler made the All Conference team in the Eastern Division. The Junior Varsity and Freshman teams did exceptionally, well, both winning all but one game. Although there will be ten Seniors leaving this year, the rest of the girls feel determined to make next year an even better season.
