OHS Gains New Friend Osceola made a new friend this year. His name is Nelson Tavares age 15 of Colatina, Brazil. His father is a minister in Brazil. He stayed at the Pastor Nordstrom residence while in Osceola. Nelson enjoyed many of the activities of O. H. S. , especially sports events. Nelson's greatest experience was enduring our cold weather and liked it extremely well when school was let out due to snow. He made many friends while here in Osceola and we'll all think of him as a friend and added enjoyment to the 74-75 school year. Mini-Courses Well Accepted O. H. S. had the experience of mini-courses this year. These were small classes offered three times for a two week time period. Students provided a most enthusiastic reaction toward them so it is thought they will continue on into future years. Courses covered various activities ranging from knitting to riflery to powder puff mechanics and bachelor survival. The classes created an easier, friendlier attitude between teachers and students as could be felt walking down the hall on any given day. The new mini-course idea is one that the faculty and students feel should follow them to the new school next year.
