January 27, 1974 marked the passing of a distinguished Osceola native, Dr. Charles W. Jeffrey, whose generosity helped make possible a new elementary school building. A man who believed in education and the youth of Osceola, Dr. Jeffrey bequested $140, 700 for the building fund. Dr. Jeffrey wanted to repay the community for furnishing him with an education he might not have otherwise received. He was the last living member of the Osceola High School class of 1902. It is to this man and his ideals that we dedicate this annual, NOSTALGIA 1974. We also wish to say our thank you by dedicating NOSTALGIA 1974 to the ' foreseeing voters of School District 19 who passed the bond issue approving the construction of a new Jr. -Sr. High School. It is the foresight of these electors which stands as proof of their interest in the quality of our education. The present building, constructed in 1913 and soon to be replaced by a modern structure, serves as a reminder of past days and people who make-up the true nostalgia of Osceola High School.
