Osceola lead seven points at halftime. Genoa tied the score in the third quarter and scored twice in the fourth period to hand Osceola the loss—giving the co-champion teams six-one records. Three Bulldogs achieved the allconference team. Bob Dinges was selected by unanimous consent for the backfield. Lester Gabriel and Bruce Frizzell were named guard and tackle respectively. Bob Dinges won a position on the Class C All-State Team. Band had a very full year attending many contests and festivals. On October 23, they participated in the Harvest of Harmony in Grand Island. The State Marching Contest was held November $ in the Pershing Munincipal Auditorium in Lincoln. Osceola received the highest rating in the Class C division. Carolyn Swanson represented the band at the State Music Clinic held in North Platte on November 17-19. Two concerts were given by the band in late March and the early part of April. They attended the Goldenrod Conference Festival held in Genoa on March 28, and the District Contest in Aurora on April 20-22. Many small groups and individuals also participated in the Festival and Contest. During the year the band preformed for numerous football and basketball games. The following projects were completed: We painted park benches to complete YOUTH CAN DO. For our TEENAGE CONSUMER program we discussed the labels found on our clothing. The F.F.A. joined us in having a Family Fun Feed to complete our FAMILY UNITY project. A short skit and a report were presented on FAMILY FITNESS. For YOUR FUTURE WITH HOME ECONOMICS, we made posters for the school bulletin boards and the store windows up town. On Halloween we sold UNESCO stamps and were rated third among the state's F.H.A. chapters for selling the most. For UNITED NATIONS DAY we entertained our mothers to a foreign foods meal and program. An interesting film was shown and a report given for the project UNICEF. We entertained our fathers on Daddy Date Night to a Thanksgiving dinner and made favors for the rest homes. The other activities we took part in were: Hobo Day, a hayride to which we invited the F.F.A., and Christmas caroling. Margie Ransom, Helen Mickey, Kathy Eikenhorst, and Carolyn Girard attended the state F.H.A. convention. Our chapter mothers this year were Neola Watts and Mildred Ransom.
