Installation of officers during F.H.A. Convention At the first of the year, our F.H.A. sets up goals to fulfill by the end of the school year. The following are some of the things we have accomplished this year. We made F.H.A. yearbooks, had Hobo Day, and hosted the District 9 Convention, with 9 chapters attending. We publicized National Home Economics Week by placing posters and displays in store windows. We went trick treating for UNESCO on Halloween and afterwards had a masquerade party with the F.F.A. For Thanksgiving we made favors for the rest homes, and on Christmas we honored our fathers with a banquet, and went Christmas caroling around town. We visited the F.F.A. and they gave us a demonstration on parliamentary procedure. For our meeting on safety we had a ski't demonstrating the dangerous articles around the home. During F.H.A. Week we put up posters, wore ■F.H.A. badges, and had a skit to publicize F.H.A. and what it .means to us. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA FRONT ROW: L. Keister, R. Gestrine, Sentinel, L. Sipes residence on 9Uth and Elite Drive, the following is taking place. Grandma Sipes is busily engaged in entertaining their daughter Jayne1 s children while Grandpa Sipes takes a snooze on the couch. And what is he dreaming about? None other than that unforgettable class of i960 at dear old 0. H. S. Many things have happened in the past 20 years, not only to Mr. Sipes and his cLass of I960, but also to Osceola and 0. H. S. Old Rodney Gestrine and his Wild Cat Drillers were pokin' holes in the ground and be darned if they didn't strike nil; Since then the town has grown considerably to 150,000 and has annexed its neighbors of Stromsburg, where Shirley Hendrickson and her husband now live, and Shelby as suburbs. The farmers around Osceola have really prospered because of Richard and Jim's incorporated Kropatsch Company. Their slogan is Patch up your corn patch with Gro-patch, liquid fertilizer. Just then one of the grandkids turns on the T. V. full blast and wakes Grandpa Sipes with a start, to Dennis Schmoker's Over the Barn Door with Denny, with guest speaker Howard Carlson, Secretary of Agriculture, telling how to use a Cootie Catcher. FLASHI Special News Bulletin—Big TWA crashes over Atlantic Ocean with only one survivor, Louise Peterson, stewardess of the plane, who was lucky to land in a life boat and was taken to Walter Reed Hospital and revived by head nurse Annitta Johnson with the assistance of Kay Watts and Barbara Wieseman. Scott Dean Sipes strolls in with Hey Daddi-OJ Flip the switch to Channel 66. It's time for that Rock Rolling, guitar-picking LeRoy Rein. Grandpa Sipes, not caring for this type of program, picks up his Osceola Times, edited by Joyce Roberts, where he reads the headline DOUGLAS DUNN NAMED PRIME MINISTER OF RUSSIA, which the U. S. A. took over in 1970. Reading further, he comes to Karen Prell's Hollywood Gossip Column, where he sees that Karen Ferris turned down a big movie contract and returned home to marry a wealthy Nebraska Foot Doctor. Turning to the Society page he reads that Lora Lee Dawes is home visiting her parents after her recent trip abroad, singing for the servicemen. Further on the page he sees that Rosetta Gabriel has just divorced her sixth husband. Skimming the advertisement page a few old familiar names catch Grandpa's eye. First is Louis Monson, Marriage Counselor,r which reminds Grandpa that he heard the other day that Beth Imhoff was Louie's private Secretary, taking dictation at 270 wpmj and that Clair Huggler is his most frequent customer. Also he sees the WATTS (AnnEtte) MICKEY (Hazel) SCHOOL OF COMMERCE, which boasts Judy Miller and Judy Bernt teaching how to sit on the boss's knee. The last name he recognizes is Jeaninne Heckman who, with her husband, owns a chain of Lavendar Super Markets across the U. S. A. Grandpa Sipes then receives a telephone call from the University of Osceola, who is calling to remind Grandpa that he is to be guest speaker at their Athletic Banquet, honoring Coach Maury Ransom's Basketball team that just came home with their fiftieth straight victory. Also to be present at the banquet are Jtyron Bernt, Ag. instructor, and Shirley Jones, Math teacher, at the University. Hanging up the receiver Grandpa Sipes sees Big Ben strike twelve on the T. V. and Donna Rutter comes into view to wind it up for the next day I SENIOR CLASS WILL The Class of I960 of the Osceola High School, being of sound mind and tired body, hereby makes their last Will and Testimony to the Class of 1961 of the Osceola High School.
