THE BULLDOG PUBLISHED BY THE SENIOR CLASS OF OSCEOLA HIGH SCHOOL REMEMBER the days of the Model-T Ford, the mud roads, short skirts, the Sunday afternoon matinee, airraids we experienced, the sack of candy a nickel could buy, and the pigtails that the boys enjoyed pulling and sticking in ink-wells. Gone are these mementos of yesteryear and in their places are television, aerial photos, the atomic bomb, four-lane highways, hot-rod cars and modern school buildings. The 1954 Bulldog wishes to dedicate this annual to the spirit of progress which has been exemplified by our community and pay tribute to all the citizens who have nurtured this spirit of progress. tfer

THE PRINCIPAL SPEAKS Life is not lived in a vacuum. Constantly we must associate with others and from these associations derive, satisfaction or frustration, happiness or displeasure. If there is one fact we learn in high school it is this: that we must live, work and play with others. How satisfactorily we adjust ourselves to this fact in part determines our enjoyment and pleasure in life. We who guide your high school life hope that this institution has in some way helped you to obtain at least a glimpse of the good life, the goal of life which can be yours through intelligent application and constant striving. If our school has taught you to work with others, to enjoy and appreciate their company, we have accomplished much. Further, if our classrooms have passed to you a workable understanding of the tools demanded of an intelligent citizen, we have accomplished much. The task is difficult, the way hard. Your education shows you the path. May the pages of this annual remind you of the privileges education has extended you, at the same time revealing that privilege always brings responsibility. Do not end your education upon graduation. Continue to grow in mind and spirit. Constantly seek truth and the best which is in life. We have served our purpose here if you, the students of Osceola High School, possess the spirit of adventurous search for a life built upon honesty, decency and worthy ambition.
