Junior Senior Banquet On May 7 1948 the JL1Ill0lb wele hosts to the Semors and membexs ot the Faculty at a tormal banquet and Prom glV6I1 ln the Osceola Hlgh School gym Jun1o1s and Sen1o1s from schools 1n the Golden Rod Conference were 1n Vlted for the Prom whlch started at 9 oclock The settlng tol the FQSIIVAI was a Ma1d1 Gras The entlre ce1l1ng ot the gym was co vered Wlth assorted clepe papel Strlps of sez able length Long stungs of balloons hung amld the serpentxne The walls were coveled wlth paper and palnted to represent floats IH the Mardl Glas parade Foul lalge balloon bags f111ed Wlth confettl and balloons hung from the lafters A huge palnted mask was placed at the bottom of the steps through WhlCh eyely one stepped upon enteung In the center of the room was a gldSS mat COX619d w1th SEVSIH1 stuffed anlmals and wlth balloons Tables were placed ln a cucle axound this centerpxece 'lhe tables wexe decolated wxth centerp1eces of balloons and contettl At 6 oclock the guests and Jumors began to a1r1ve The gay colors of the glrls formals added to the atmosphere MHFCIB Schnelder was toastmxstress of the proglam Dlnnex was pzepared by the Cathol1c Ladles Gulld The Freshmen g1l1S dressed xn gay cos tumes to sult the OCCBSIOII were Waltresses The IT'lLlblC lOl the Prom was provlded by Kay M1lls and hls olchestra LaVonne D1nges and Mava GlObbIllLkldUS were honored by belng chosen to SGIVC punch and COOKICS at the Prom because ot the attxactlveness of the1r costumes The balloon showers were cut loose at dlf felent mtervals durlng the dance ra1n1ng bal loons and confettl ove1 GVQIQODC Packages of confett1 we1e handed out to be thrown freely by GXSIYOIIE Holns and blow outs added to the fun and the COIlfLlSl0I1 The flrst Ma1d1 Glas Ball was a great success I I pentine hung from the rafters to almost reach- 1 i i
