B Bush C Mlller Th1s year the school band has made an 1m pressxve come back under the d1rect1on of Mr Adams At the begmnmg of the term eleven begmners Jomed the band There were two d1v1s1ons to the band the begmners band and the advanced band The advanced band has played an lmportant part 1n many of the school 8CtlVltleS They played as a pep band at all the home basket ball games th1s year and also marched and played 1n the afternoon Coronat1on and Home commg Parade On December l all the band members spent the day at the Genoa Band Cl1n1c 1n Genoa all d Th1S year the school 1S awardlng band let ters to the hxgh school students who have played 1n the school band for the entlre year All band members are entltlcd to wear a ser VICE bar for every year of serv1ce IH the band and a chevron for every letter earned Several add1t1ons and 1mprovements have been made durxng the school year The Amerx can Leglon donated the money used to pur chase the new BBb bass and also the second hand sousaphone The band has sponsored the new Coke ma ch1ne IH the lower hall and profxts from lt are to be used to buy mus1c and other necessxtles for the band
