'11- 4+ ' iq '7a72vz6e4, ke dgew Wad cz The football team this year was a credit to the school. Before the season began, this was expected to be the big year for the Tigers. Many of the regulars from last year's team were back. But, bad luck began to take over. After winning the first game at Suffolk, injuries began to pile up in practice and games. Slowly the chances for a championship team .5 slipped away. They got a big boost when they beat Granby in an exciting game. In losing the Hermitage game, the boys seemed to lack something. In the next game, Mr. Harrison's boys ruined Cradock's home-coming by beating them. Then they began a home stand during which they played their last four games. In the nrst two home games, they lost to William Fleming and Hampton. Team and school morale was on the decline Next came the Home coming game As compared with the preceding homecomings this one was dead The spirit hit an all time low Without the crowd to back them the team lost During the next week before the Thanksgiving Day game with Norview a big spirit drive began It was a success As many have said this was the best game played in South Norfolk in many years Although the team lost tlus game they proved the great team they really were by fighting to the finish never giving up SCHEDULE They Suffolk Wilson Maury Granby Hermitage Cradock Hampton Fishburne Fleming Norview Sept Oct Nov Stratton makes an end sweep against Norview on Turkey Day i 9 - Q Q , Q I .
