Lx' Practice teaching through the F.T.A. helps to prepare students, like Phyllis Pierce, for the teaching career they are planning. G46 ' miie e 65:45 To learn more about teaching is the chief aim of the Future Teaeher's Club. This aim is recognized by the projects and activities conducted by the organization. They were in charge of four W.F.O.S. Radio programs during National Education Week, Other activities of the club included a visit to the Edu- cational Train, the presentation of a book to the library, their able assistance to the Student Council during College and Career Day and to the P.T.A. with their spaghetti supper. Substitute teaching in the grammar schools, also helped to enlighten the students in the art of teaching. ie ml Secretarial work has become a preferred ca- reer for young women in recent years. The Commercial Club was started for the purpose of promoting this interest even further. as good sec- retaries are needed in all businesses. The activities of the club include films, speakers, a yearlyvpresentation of a book to the library, helping a needy family at Christmas. field trips. and a picnic at the end of the year. Members are taken from commer- cial students who want to pursue this interest further than the confines of the classroom will allow. At their meetings. the club often has speakers, such as Miss Leigh. herself a former commercial teacher. s. . W c ter: Ea: ' in' 911:- i f! Q3 41 Commercial Club Officers. Franz left I0 P'f,Ql1I.'
