DEDICATION Honor, dignity, integrity, and the love and welfare for those students who have passed before him can best describe the person we honor with the dedication of the Hi-Jacket of 1963. It was not a difficult task for the staff of this year's Hi-Jacket to select a person worthy of its dedication. In this person, we have selected someone who, through his many years of service in this county, has always put the welfare of all students above every principle of day by day life. His devotion to his work can best be exemplified by a few simple words so often spoken by him, and we quote, The doors to my heart and my home are always open to those students seeking help regardless of the time of day. In behalf of the Hi-Jacket staff and the student body we dedicate this annual of 1963 to Mr. Joseph Fortuna. 4

Mr. William R. Murphy Principal Osbourn High School Manassas. Virginia PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS I am very privileged to have this space to record a few words to you, the students of Osbourn. It has always been my wish to know each of you personally, but due to the increase in enrollment and the expansion of the facilities, this has become an impossibility. There have been many times when I have talked with you, especially the seniors, about your plans for your future, about diligent application, about a sense of loyalty, and about your obligations and responsibilities not only to others but to yourselves. If I have not conveyed to you the importance of these principles, please allow me to stress probably the most important thing of all. This is your acceptance and practice of your own chosen religion. If you do this, all other ingredients of happiness will follow their natural courses. 3
