Lacey Compton SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS It seems impossible that five years ago we entered the eighth grade. We can still remember clearly confusion of changing classes-for this was something new to us, the awe with which we looked up to the seniors, and the excitement of being the first eighth grade to enter the new high school. We recall looking longingly at the caption given our class in the annual- Class of '58 - and wondering if we would ever make it. As freshmen we felt that we were really a part of Osbourn. We ventured out to join organizations, try out for athletic teams, and participate in school activities. Our classes this year Were more difficult, but much more interesting. At the lunch table, our conversation began to take on an intellectual tone porto, portas, portat or X equals three times a plus b. The sophomore year seemed to fly by as we were busy with so many extracurricular activities-football games, dances, and committees. We juniors suddenly realized that we were a big part of Osbourn. Members of our class were out there on the football field or the basketball court, on the stage, winning contests, marching in front of the band. The one thing which stands out during this year is the Prom, which everyone said was the biggest and best ever. Suddenly school was over and we were handed cards stating that we were classified as seniors. At the beginning of this year we snapped into action and got organized for our most important year with plans for the senior trip, dreams of graduation night, applications to colleges or jobs, everyone looking ahead to the future. 12
