The motto of the club, Toward new horizons, expresses the hope that family life may be improved. The club colors, red and white, are symbolic of youth--youth who strive for success in the home. The red rose is the flower by which the club is identified. It represents the vibrant, glowing health which is important to the home. WINNING DAIRY JUDGING TEAM: This group defeated 70 other teams at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, to be selected the number one State Winner. Later they placed third in the National Dairy Judging Contest. They are; Richard Shultz, Bobby Michael, and Stuart McCuin. Each F. F. A member conducts supervised farm enterprises end improvements on his home farm during the year. These involve livestock, poultry, and crops with which he works and on which he keeps financial records of labor, expenses, and income „ The Chapter sponsors and carries out the following objectives: setting out 2,000 pine seedlings; sending delegates and a judging team to the State Rally; sending a dairy team to the National Dairy judging contest; sponsoring a Father--Son Banquet; cooperating with the F. Harlan Veenandaal The membership of the Bible Club numbers twenty-eight. The club tries to get a better understanding of the Bible by learning how we got it, by studying certain passages, and one of the Gospels. Its aim is to follow as closely as we can the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives and lead out in religious activities for the student body. Its projects this year are: giving thanks at both lunch periods, assisting in devotions for assembly programs, and providing a place with quiet music where those who wish may have a few minutes of private devotions before beginning the day's work.
