This question proved to be a minor issue as we ended our season with an 8 and 1 record. This is the third consecutive year that The Big Eleven has achieved this fine record. Nancy Wood James McMeans DEAR UNDERCLASSMEN, Just a note to tell you about our four years at “Dear Ole Osbourn’’, It was not all play but quite a bit of work. As we stepped on the prison grounds for our four year stretch, we were faced with “Wardens” and “Matrons” who classified themselves as upperclassmen. The first year was rough; our teachers began to push on the work. Instead ot shovels and picks, we were given pencils and paper, and believe me, the shovels would have been a lot easier. The good part of this whole business was that we met others who were in the same boat and have come all the way through with us. By our second yea!r the jail turned into an “almost” really nice place, and we began to classify it as school, especially since we had a brand new building. The struggle went on, and our brains seemed to be bulging with information. We seemed to think there was no reason to go on, but alas, there were two more years. As we entered our junior year we were ‘‘IT”. (We thought.) My, just think. Juniors. What a wonderful year ! More exciting things began to happen. Money, Money, Money, was the only thing we could think of. We had to give the “honorable” seniors the best Prom yet, and we think we did. We fretted and worked, but the big night finally came, and it was quite a success. When we got our senior rings we began to walk around with our heads held high, and waiting with the expectations of our senior year. The summer rolled by and finally the groups, with a few left out, and a few added, climbed to the last big step. Seniors!!!! There were parties, and of course, our wonderful senior trip, the banquet, baccalaureate, and at last, graduation. Now we’re ready we hope, to step out into the big wide world. Some of us have plans for college, others have Uncle Sam on our mind, and yet others plan to enter into big business. As you can see it hasn’t been a bit dull, now has it? So the best of luck to you, underclassmen. We hope you have as much fun, and as much cooperation from the students and faculty, as we have had.
