State or Virginia Prince William County Town of Manassas Osbourn High School We, the class of l945, of the aforesaid state, county, town, and school, having survived the ordeal of freshmanhood, having endured the pointless eccentricies of various members of the faculty, having com- pleted four years of English, having filled a seat in assembly for the required nu ber of times, having juggled with our brains in geometry class, and having faced the ordeal of three unexcused tardies, being nevertheless, of a sound mind, and body, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. ' Article I. To the Faculty ---- Item I: To Miss Smith, we leave an unhurried schedule. Item II: To Mrs. Lyons, we Leave the blessed relief of no more Roswell Round's, Phil Thornhill's, or Carroll Wright's. Item III: To Miss Johnson, we leave a non-oollapsable sphere, so that the Seniors cannot use it for a football. Item IV: To Miss Faulconer, we leave enough typists to take care of all the extra work. Item V: To Mr. Peters, we leave a sufficient supply of cigars to last throughout the basketball and football seasons. Item VI: To the whole faculty, we leave the joy of having the class of '45 safely launched and out of their hands. Article II. To the Classes ---- Item I: To the up-and-coming Seniors, we leave: 1. The envious status of 'Dignified Seniorsn. 2. Our caps and gowns, along with a supply of mothballs to preserve them until graduation. 3. The mythical nsenior Privilagesu. Item Il: To the Sophomores, we leave the grey hair and chewed fingernails which accompany the preparation of the prom. Item III: To the Freshman class, we leave our best wishes, and, in a way, our regrets that we aren't again embarking on our four years of what was, lots of fu as well as hard work. Article III: To Individuals ---- Item I: Betty Blakemore leaves her 'unanimous poems' to the next students of Beowulf. Item II: Virginia Crouch relinquishes her nquiet's the wordn way to Dorothy Turner. Item.III: Ruby Dunn leaves her basketball ability to an up-and- coming guard, Miriam Herseh. Item IV: Roswell Round leaves to Bo Williams his book on UHUW to Turn Teacher's Hair Gray in Two Easy Lessons', with our fond hope that Bo will bum in. -' Item V: Helen Landis leaves her gift of friendliness to her sis- ter, Alma. Item VI: Jean Lewis leaves her beauty to Margaret Cox, her able successor. Item VII: Mary Freda Smith leaves her job as typist of the Hi- Jacket, to anyone who is nuts enough to take it. '- Item VIII: Dickey Graham leaves--period! Item Il: Please somebody, leave Dulany Tyler something to carry her milk bottles in. We, the members of the 1945 Senior Class, in witness thereof, do declare this to be our last will and testament.
